1. How old must my child be to register for The Beechwood School?

Your child must be two and a half years old by their starting date. The Beechwood School starts enrollment in either June or September. Children are accepted up to age six. You do not have to be enrolled in our school year program in order to attend our summer camp.

2. Does my child need to be potty trained to attend The Beechwood School?

Yes. It is Beechwood School's policy that all children are potty trained in order to attend. Children must wear big boy/girl underpants even if they wear a diaper to bed at home. There are no pull-ups allowed.

3. When do you accept new enrollments?

The main times of year that The Beechwood School accepts new enrollments is September and June. Acceptance during the school year depends on availability.

The Beechwood School operates on an academic calendar September through mid-June.

The Beechwood School Summer Camp begins in late June and lasts through mid-August. Children enrolling in the summer camp MUST register for a minimum of six weeks.

4. How do I schedule a tour of the facilities?

If Beechwood is not already on a waiting list, parents interested in enrolling a child may call the Beechwood School at 856-429-0303 to arrange for a tour of the facility. Tours are scheduled by appointment mid-morning, Tuesday through Friday during . During other months tours are scheduled mid-morning, but not daily.

5. How do I enroll my child?

Children are accepted on a "first come, first serve" basis with the condition that the Beechwood School is able to meet the child's needs. To guarantee a spot for your child, the registration fee and tuition deposit must be paid in full.

Also, every child must be potty trained by their start date.

6. What are your hours of operation?

Hours during the regular school year are from 7:45am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Tuition is based on the schedule a child is signed up for. All children must register for 5 days per week but may register for mixed schedules of half and full days:

9:00am - 11:30am
9:00am - 1:00pm
7:45am - 5:00pm

Summer camp opens at 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Thursday. The Beechwood School is closed on Fridays in the summer.

7. Can I visit my child during the day?

The Beechwood School has an open door policy for parents of children currently enrolled. Parents may visit their child at any time or parents may call the office and we will gladly check on your child. Calling rather than visiting may be the best option and less upsetting for your child while he/she is getting adjusted.

8. How will I know what is happening during my child's day?

Each classroom has a bulletin board outside the room with what was covered that day and any important classroom notices. There are also classroom daily schedules posted. Monthly newsletters will also inform parents of planned topics and activities. Finally, please ask at the office if you need clarification or more information.

9. What are the advantages of having an owner / director on site?

The Beechwood School is owned and directed by Marge McElroy and Sue Hagan. Daily they are at the school. By being present at the facility they are able to interact and help the teachers, know the students and their families, and monitor the building. Together they strive to develop a healthy learning environment for your child.

10. What security measures are taken?

The Beechwood School's main door is located at the office. Parents sign in and out at the book located at the entrance. Attendance is also taken in the classroom. Families complete a long term departure slip with names of other people who are permitted to pick up their child. If the pick up person is unknown to the office, identification is requested.

11. Are vacations credited to my tuition?

During the school year, The Beechwood School's holidays are already credited in the tuition. Extra days off for illness and vacation are not able to be credited.

During Beechwood Summer Camp, students may register for only the weeks they wish to attend. Other days off due to illness or last minute vacations may not be credited.
